Witcomb Cycles

Wow this looks like really good manufacturer. Hadn't heard of them before myself but apparently been building these sexy little things in south London since 1949. Anyone reading this got one? I like the fact that the ordering process starts with a 'Measuring and cycle-fitting service, providing you with a frame blueprint for geometry and size' - the Saville Row of frame builders? Intrigued and ever so slightly tempted...

eehh, those are very pretty frames, and being manufactured in the uk, instead of far away us is quite a plus. man, thanks for the link! *puts a new favoured manufacturer in the list*

phew, the price-tag surely is a big one. oh well... as they say in the page, they build you a frame, that will last you at least 50 years. if that's nothing, eh? i am... intrigued.

i wouldn't dare to think about it :O
easily £3K above. I can actually use that for part payment for a spanking new 120i.

Yeah the price tag on these is very hefty. Looks like really nice work though - esp the lugging and so on. Much more economical to invest in a vintage hand-made though...

hm, i mean, i guess i'd take a japanese frame over an english one, essp. considering the lower price for something handmade form the far east. even with all kinds of exras for a kalavinka i didn't get near the witcomb price range. not talking about a nagasawa, of course, but cherubim or kalavnka are really high on my list.

I have a Wicomb, in fact I live about 200m from the workshop. The bike was built in 1971, bought it on ebay for £114. Classy and affordable!

as a current witcomb customer, I'm very sady to tell you all that their attitude to customer service doesn't match their talents in the bespoke building arena. Incredibly sad considering how beautiful the bike are.
